The National Beauty Cultists League, National Institute of Cosmetology, provides
comprehensive education and professional development in the fields of cosmetology, barbering,
esthetics, massage therapy, nail technology, and natural hair care.
Our structured matriculation process ensures that students’ progress through a rigorous
curriculum designed to cultivate expertise at every level. Our institute encompasses
Undergraduate (freshman -Senior), Master (Master I-Master II), and Doctorate (Doctorate I-
Doctorate IV) levels leading to a Professional Degree, equipping students with the knowledge
and the skills necessary for success in the beauty industry. Additionally, we offer specialized courses
for Beauty School students seeking to enhance their training.

Please use the following as a checklist for your application:
-Eligibility Criteria
Field of Study – Must be pursuing a program in cosmetology, natural hair care, esthetics,
barbering, nail technology, massage therapy, or a related beauty industry field.
License Status – State Professional License must be current/valid.
Personal Statement – A 500–1,000-word essay explaining:
Two (2) Letters of Recommendation – 1 personal, 1 professional recommendation
Resume
Copy of valid professional license
Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) and Advanced Placement
The National Institute of Cosmetology recognizes that many of our students bring
valuable academic and professional experience to their studies. To honor this, we offer the
opportunity to apply for Credit for Prior Learning (CPL). This process allows you to
potentially begin your studies at an advanced level, saving time and accelerating your degree
completion.
How It Works
All new students are admitted as Freshmen.
If you have prior academic or industry credentials, you may apply for advanced
placement.
Depending on your background, you may be placed at a higher level, up to the Senior level
(Bachelor’s) level.
Who Can Apply for Advanced Placement?
You may apply if you have any of the following:
An official transcript showing that you earned a degree from an accredited university.
A state-issued instructional or professional license in Cosmetology, Barbering,
Esthetics, Nail Artistry, or Massage Therapy.
Industry certifications or additional professional licenses.
Certificates of completion for advanced training courses (please include the name and
contact information of the course provider).
Special Placement Options
If you hold a Bachelor’s degree, you may be eligible to begin directly in the Master’s program
Program.
If you hold a Master’s degree, you may be eligible to begin directly in the Doctoral program
Program.
How to Apply
1. Gather your documents (transcripts, licenses, certifications, training certificates).
2. Submit your materials with your application or directly to the Office of Admissions and
Academic Records.
3. The Academic Evaluation Committee will review your credentials.
4. You will receive a written placement decision before starting your program.
